Kashmiri Classes for Kids & Teens
Live, one-on-one Kashmiri lessons for children and teens under 18 — $15 per session, taught by a native tutor matched to your child's age and pace.
Passing Kashmiri on to the next generation
Many parents want their children to speak Kashmiri with grandparents and relatives but don't have the time or fluency to teach it themselves. A dedicated tutor gives kids regular, structured practice without adding pressure at home.
Because sessions are private and live, tutors can slow down for a young beginner's first words or move faster for a teen who already understands spoken Kashmiri but wants to speak more confidently.
Safe, flexible, and built around school
Every lesson is a one-on-one video call with a matched tutor, and parents are welcome to join or sit in on any session. Sessions are booked individually, so lessons fit around homework, extracurriculars, and school terms rather than a fixed weekly class time.
Pricing is $15 per session for children and teens under 18, with a free introductory session for new learners. See the full pricing breakdown on the Pricing page.
What to expect in the first lesson
The free introductory session is low-pressure by design. A tutor spends a few minutes getting to know your child — their age, what Kashmiri they've already heard at home, and what feels comfortable — before easing into a few simple words or phrases.
Parents are welcome to sit in for the first session, especially with younger children, and can step back once both the child and the tutor are comfortable continuing on their own.
Younger children and teens learn differently
A young child's lesson tends to be short, playful, and built around simple repetition — colors, family words, basic greetings. A teenager's lesson can move faster and cover more ground, especially if they already understand spoken Kashmiri and are mainly building the confidence to speak it back.
Because every learner gets their own tutor rather than a shared class, this difference in pace is handled naturally — there's no group of mixed ages to plan a single lesson around.
